The World is My Boyfriend

“What if it’s the there
and not the here
that I long for?
The wander
and not the wait,
the magic
in the lost feet
stumbling down
the faraway street
and the way the moon
never hangs
quite the same.”

  1. You are doing what so many of us dream of! I applaude your initiative and courage. As for staying safe in India or anywhere for that matter – trust your gut. When I travelled in E 98, my cast manager talked about distinguishing between dangerous and uncomfortable. I had a very different and uncomfortable host family experience where my roomie actually chose to be taken out of the situation, but I stayed. It was uncomfortable, but memorable. I learned and grew as a person and maybe most impotantly I made someone (peculiar host) happy. All this to say – safe travels. Oh and has anyone from E 99 put you in touch with Pancho from Chile? Love, Synnøve

  2. Kathryn.. Your blog is spectacular. Really excellent. Your photos are capturing the essence of India. I especially love the photos of the local children (their beautiful eyes and skin)and the market colors. Wow wow wow. Thank you for sharing with us.. Much appreciated. Is time flying?

    1. Thank you so much, Mary Jo! I’m glad you’re following along on my adventure! To answer your question, time is strange, isn’t it? Some days it feels like it’s flying, other days it feels like I’ve been away for so long!

I can’t believe these pictures are taken with iPhone 5. Impressive color but even better “eye”!

Thinking of you Catherine. Have you now left India?

  4. Hey Mary Jo! Thanks for the message! I didn’t buy the sari. It’s 18 feet long and I just don’t have room in my backpack for something like that. 😞
I left India a few days ago. I miss it, but I’m excited about Thailand!

  5. As if I wasn’t already envious enough of your travels! I’m finally taking the time to read your blog entries and not just scroll through the pictures. It’s pretty amazing the culture you are experiencing and the things you are learning. I’ve learned a lot just reading your entries! I can’t wait to experience a tidbit of your adventures very soon.
